Lane restrictions to begin on I-680

YOUNGSTOWN

Daytime lane restrictions on Interstate 680 begin Monday.

I-680 from Silliman Street to Woodland Avenue will have various daytime lane restrictions in either or both directions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge reconstruction. Silliman Street and Woodland Avenue will have various daytime lane restrictions in either or both directions between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The restrictions will last for a couple of weeks as crews prepare for construction, said Kristen Erickson, an ODOT District 4 spokeswoman. This work is the beginning of a $14.1 million project to rehabilitate seven bridges along I-680.

Underage drinking

Beaver Township police are investigating individuals from a party last week where people who are underage were drinking alcohol.

Police said Dylan Jacob Desantis, 18, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. Saturday on two counts of offenses involving underage persons, and a 17-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct. The party was at a residence on West Middletown Road, reports stated.

Commissioners to meet at school

AUSTINTOWN

Mahoning County commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Leonard Kirtz School of the county board of developmental disabilities, 4801 Woodridge Drive. The commissioners will issue a proclamation at that meeting for March as developmental-disabilities month.

The caretaker of St. Stephen Cemetery has requested that all Christmas decorations be removed before March 27, or they will be discarded. Spring decorations will not be discarded.

Park cleanup

The spring cleanup at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Market St., will begin Thursday. All decorations must be removed by Wednesday. Spring flowers can be placed in vases beginning March 28.

Cemetery cleanup

Girard

Spring cleanup at Girard City Cemetery has been scheduled through April 3 for removing Christmas decorations from the graves. After April 4, employees will remove any Christmas decorations in preparation for Easter and Memorial Day.

Cops for K9s sale

The organization Cops for K9s will have its fourth annual garage sale to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

It will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 and 3 at the Packard Shelter House, 1703 Mahoning Ave. A bag sale will be from 2 to 3 p.m. April 3 in which everything that fits in a shopping bag is $1.
