2nd person charged in botched home invasion


STERLING, Va. (AP) — A second man has been charged in a botched home invasion in Sterling that left one alleged robber dead.

Thirty-two-year-old Scott Walker, of Harper’s Ferry, W. Va., has been charged with attempted robbery while armed and burglary with the intent to commit robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Authorities say Walker and two accomplices attempted to rob a home on Feb. 10. During an altercation, Walker was shot and fled the scene with an accomplice, 27-year-old Sam Eaton of Sterling, who has already been charged. Another accomplice, 28-year-old Anthony Miles of Manassas, was shot at the scene and died of his injuries.
