Philly police commish: Chicago good gig

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey says he’s been in touch with Chicago Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel about the top police job there but was quick point out that he’s not made any decision.

Ramsey told WPVI-TV Wednesday that he is in talks with Emanuel, the former White House chief of staff who won election in the Windy City last month.

He says the idea of becoming the top cop in Chicago, where he began his law enforcement career, is intriguing but that he does not yet have one foot out the door in Philadelphia, either.

Ramsey told the television station he has no issues with the police department that he oversees and notes it has made progress in abating crime.
