Candidate withdraws from Youngstown council race

YOUNGSTOWN

Even with the withdrawal of a candidate, the field for the Youngstown City Council’s 5th Ward Democratic primary is still the most crowded in the Mahoning Valley.

Moses H. Mahdee of Hudson Avenue has withdrawn from the primary. Mahdee couldn’t raise money to run his campaign, according to a Mahoning County Board of Elections employee.

That leaves seven Democrats in the May 3 primary.
