Residents may hear gunfire from air base Thursday
VIENNA
Members of the 910th Airlift Wing’s Security Forces Squadron and Department of Defense security officers at Youngstown Air Reserve Station will be conducting weapons qualification for the midnight shift starting at 3 a.m. Thursday.
Residents and passers-by in the vicinity of the air base should not be alarmed should they hear gunfire overnight between today and Thursday. The weapons fire is a scheduled event and is necessary to maintain the mission readiness of the security personnel assigned to the 910th, said Master Sgt. Bob Barko Jr., superintendent of public affairs.
