Project Mayhem set in Boardman

Project Mayhem will give its fifth annual concert at 7 p.m. March 23 at Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Tickets are $5 at the door. All seats are general admission.
Project Mayhem is an ensemble made up of Boardman High orchestra members but with electric violins, violas, cellos and upright bass, plus electric guitar, bass and drums.
Its Trans-Siberian Orchestra-type performance utilizes smoke machines, light displays and the energy movement of a rock concert.
Project Mayhem will perform classic-rock favorites from the past four decades. Lightwave International from Pittsburgh will do a laser show throughout the concert.
First Night Canfield names new chief
CANFIELD
Barb Smith is the new director of First Night Canfield, the annual New Year’s Eve celebration of the arts.
Smith is a veteran of nonprofit management, including Camp Fire Council, according to Dr. Tom Bowser, DDS and president of the FNC board of trustees.
