Canfield school board approves contract suspensions

CANFIELD — The board of education adopted two resolutions to approve contract suspensions of the 11 nonteaching and 14 licensed or certified staff affected by recent layoffs.

The board also approved retirement and unpaid parental leave for two teachers at its session tonight. Any retirements or resignations announced before the start of the 2011-2012 school year could continue to affect those individuals affected by layoffs.
