Women arraigned in assault on Youngstown officer
YOUNGSTOWN
Five more woman charged in connection with the assault of a female city police officer last week have been arraigned in Youngstown Municipal Court and due back before a judge March 21.
Jamalia Abrams, no age or address given; Alicia Davis, 20, of Winona Avenue; Ronisha Harris, 21, of Columbus Street, Struthers; Britany West, 20, of Winona Avenue; and Janika Abrams, no age or address given, appeared before Magistrate Anthony Sertick for arraignment on felony charges of aggravated rioting.
The woman are all charged in connection with the assault of a police officer who was reportedly trying to breakup a fight involving at least seven women. Two other females — Briyanna Littlejohn, 20, of Montclair Avenue, Boardman, and Brittany Littlejohn, 21, of Eastway Drive — have already been arraigned on felony charges and are in the Mahoning County jail.
According to police, Officer Bridget Quinn, a five-year department veteran, was reportedly attacked by the group while attempting to break up a fight and arrest one woman. Quinn was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment of bruises to her legs as well as neck and back pain.
Prosecutors told the court today that Quinn has been evaluated and may have suffered a broken rib in the melee.
