Gallery talk about artist Will Barnet
NEW CASTLE, PA.
Robert A. Presnar, program director of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, will present a free gallery talk on the life of Will Barnet at 6:30 p.m. March 24. For more information, call the Hoyt at 724-652-2882.
An exhibition of Barnet’s aquatints, etchings, lithographs and serigraphs is on display at the museum.
Barnet is an acclaimed painter and printmaker whose career has spanned the most important art movements of the 20th century and continues to this day.
The 99-year-old artist is best known for his quiet and introspective figurative imagery of domestic scenes.
Broadway singers in free concert
ALLIANCE
Singers Tamra Hayden and Craig Schulman will give a free concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the University of Mount Union Theatre.
Hayden has toured extensively throughout the United States in “Les Miserables” as Cosette; in “Phantom of the Opera” as Christine; and in “Fiddler on the Roof” as Hodel.
Schulman is the only performer in the world to have performed the lead roles in “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserables.”
