Man jailed in shooting over empty gas tank

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has been jailed on aggravated assault and other charges because police say he fired several shot at his roommate because she didn’t refill his pickup truck with gasoline after using it.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 30-year-old Joseph Francis Demarco, of Arona. State police in Greensburg say he fired shots at the 22-year-old woman inside and outside the home they shared in Hempfield Township. Police say the woman was not wounded and was being shot at while she dialed 911 Saturday afternoon.

Trooper Patrick Ciriello said the house looked like a “shooting gallery” with “bullet holes in just about every wall.”

Demarco has a criminal record dating to 2000 and had also been charged with driving without a license last month.
