YWCA seeks entrants for women’s art show
YOUNGSTOWN
The YWCA of Youngstown is accepting entries for its “Women Artists: A Celebration” annual art show.
Women artists 18 and older are eligible to enter original work, including painting, drawing, graphics, photography, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, metal work and computer-generated art. The show will accept CD or slide entries only. There is a maximum of five entries per artist and a nonrefundable fee of $7 per entry. Deadline for entries is April 18.
Vicky Clark, art gallery director and art historian, of Clarion University in Pennsylvania, will be the juror. Approximately $1,000 in merit prizes will be awarded, including an award to a local artist residing within 40 miles of the YWCA of Youngstown and a YWCA Award to an entry that reflects the mission of the YWCA, which is “eliminating racism and empowering women.”
The show will take place at the YWCA of Youngstown, 25 W. Rayen Ave. The exhibit will be available for public viewing July 8 through July 22.
Cheryl Deibel and Kathryn Infante are the co-chairwomen for the 29th annual event. Home Savings Charitable Foundation is the corporate sponsor for the event.
