A representative of the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board will be in Youngstown on Thursday to answer questions about retirement, survivor, Medicare and unemployment or sickness benefits. Appointments are available between 9 a.m. and noon at the Social Security Office, 354 E. Federal St. Call 800-772-1213.
The RRB is an independent agency within the federal government whose primary function is to administer comprehensive retirement-survivor and unemployment-sickness benefit programs for the nation’s railroad workers and their families under the Railroad Retirement and Railroad Unemployment Insurance Acts.
New salon hours

Cosmetology students at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will begin offering afternoon hours for the public at the school salon Thursday. Appointments are available starting at noon. All services are performed by students under the supervision of their instructor. Prices start at $6. Services include cuts, styles, perms, relaxers, facials, hair removal, color and manicures.
