Lady Lions win three straight championships

The St. Charles eighth-grade Lady Lions completed a stellar season, finishing 13-4 and winning the MTCC Division I championship.
The Lady Lions beat the undefeated St. Christine eighth-grade Lady Crusaders 29-20 in the championship game at Mooney High School Feb. 27.
The Lions put together an outstanding defensive performance and held the high-scoring Crusaders to a 14 percent shooting percentage from the floor, limited the Lady Crusaders to eight shots from the foul line and had 14 steals.
MacKenzie Kuchmaner lead the offense with 15 points, shooting 33 percent from the floor and going nine-of-10 from the foul line. Nicole Webber scored eight points, despite playing on a severely-sprained ankle. Brooke Overly contributed four points and Toni Chahine added two points.
During the regular season, the Lady Lions’ average margin of victory was 17 points. The St. Charles eighth-grade Lady Lions have won the MTCC Division I championship the past three years.
