The Feb. 27 service recognized the anniversaries of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.

The congregation of Austintown Community Church recognized the anniversaries of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. with a combined Scout Sunday service Feb. 27 during the 10:30 a.m. service at the church.

Senior Pastor David “Duffy“ Roberts led the service and spoke to the scouts about “honor.” Scouts from Austintown Girl Scout Troop No. 899, Cub Scout Pack 84 and Boy Scout Troop No. 84 were in attendance and participated in the service, as well as leading the Color Guard and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Those attending from Troop 899 were Abby Brown, Megan Doyle, Monica Doyle, Beth Kennedy, Alivia Miller, Grace Miller, Melissa Mershimer, Sierra Sharp and leaders Tricia Doyle, Barbara Bott and Trudee Davis.

Those attending from Pack 84 were Ben Braunstein, Jacob Clegg, Jason Hasey, Paul Hinchcliffe, Mike Melizia, Robert Melizia, Seth Welch and leaders Tim Clegg (Cubmaster) and Andy Welch (Webelos).

Attending from Boy Scout Troop 84 were Cory Eft, Jacob Reid, Josh Reid and leaders Tom Eft-Scoutmaster, Jerry Reid-Committee Chairman and Dave Nelson-Chartering Organization Representative and from Canfield Boy Scout Troop 115, Zane Welch.

Girl Scout Troop No. 899 meets Mondays at Austintown Community Church and is comprised of all levels of Girl Scouting from Daisies to Seniors. For information on the Girl Scout program, visit www.gsneo.org.
