Covelli Enterprises invests in vests

Covelli enterprises presented a $5,000 check to Austintown Police Department during the monthly meeting of the township trustees. The funds will be applied toward the cost of replacing bulletproof vests for all 37 full-time officers in the police department.

The department pursued grants to help defray the cost of replacing the vests that are nearing their five-year expiration date. However, the grants were not enough to cover the entire cost.

Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises, said he was honored to make the donation to help keep members of the Austintown Police Department safe as they selflessly serve others.
