Red Cross classes

The dates and times of classes offered by the Mercer County Red Cross in March at its office at 517 W. Main St., are: March 19, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid, $65; March 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Babysitter’s Training, $45; and March 30, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Adult CPR/AED, $50.

Immunization clinics

Trumbull County Health Department community childhood immunization clinics are offered at the following times and places: Trumbull County Health Department, Wednesday, 1 to 4 p.m.; Newton Falls Community Center, Tuesday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.; Mecca Community Church, March 17, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
All clinics are walk-in. There is a fee of $10 per visit, but no one will be denied because of inability to pay. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring the child’s shot record.

Free blood-test kits

In recognition of Colo-rectal Cancer Awareness Month, Humility of Mary Health Partners Cancer Centers are offering free fecal occult blood test (FOBT) kits. An FOBT is a simple chemical home test that can detect blood in the stool, a symptom of colorectal cancer.
Those most at risk for colorectal cancer are 50 years and older, physically inactive, smokers, and those with a family history of the disease. If detected early, colorectal cancer is 90 percent curable.

“Heart Signs: Act in Time” and “Hands-Only CPR”: Tuesday, 9 a.m. to noon, Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Poland. Open to the public. The fee is $15.
