YOUNGSTOWN

An exhibition of photographs by Raelyn Ruppel, a student at the University of Akron, opens Sunday at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., and runs through May 15. Titled “The Beauty and Tragedy of Decline,” the photos capture the evolution of a once- booming industrial state into one overcome by ruins.

The photographs, taken in Northeast Ohio, include images of prisons, pottery factories, restaurants, inns, cement plants, brick works, train yards, entertainment venues and a coast-guard station.

The museum is open 1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Admission is $4 ($3 for seniors and college students; $2 for children. Go to mahoninghistory.org.
