Homicide ruled in death of woman hit by own car
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania coroner says the death of a woman struck by her own car was homicide.
The Luzerne County Coroner made the determination Wednesday in the death of 55-year-old Denise Polinchak. Police say Polinchak had called for a tow Monday before she was struck by the open door of her own car while the tow truck driver tried to back it out of a space.
The Wilkes-Barre woman was transported to a hospital where she died Tuesday.
Plains Township police say the tow truck driver showed signs of intoxication and was taken for a blood test. No charges have been filed.
