Local jazz-fusion band SounDoctrine’s song “Marriage” has been picked up by The Weather Channel as background music for its Local on the 8s weather reports.

“Marriage,” from the band’s 2010 album “Inspire,” is the fourth SounDoctrine song to be picked up by the channel. It entered the rotation this month as a remix and is being played daily in the 2 p.m. hour.

The song features Cleveland saxophonist Keith McKelley, whose instrument represents the husband, and New York flautist Ragan White-side, representing the wife. Youngstown pianist Cliff Barnes and guitarist Angel Lopez also play on the remix. The song, which has no vocals, celebrates the joys of marriage, said Jere B.

“We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with TWC,” said Jere B, who wrote the song. “Airplay on their station has helped us break stations in other markets.”

SounDoctrine is asking married couples to e-mail their wedding photos to the band to be included in a video for the song. The first 500 couples who do so will receive a free download of the song. Couples who want to use “Marriage” in their wedding ceremony can download the “Inspire” album for free.
