Kelsey Brooks of Columbiana and Nick Hawkins of Berlin Center are announcing their engagement and plans for a May wedding.

She is the daughter of Mark and Tamala Brooks of Columbiana, and he is the son of Lee and Polly Hawkins of Berlin Center.

At 3 p.m. May 27, the couple will exchange wedding vows in an open ceremony at the home of Ralph and Jean Coblentz in Columbiana. Invitations will be issued for a reception at The Georgetown in Boardman.

The bride-elect graduated from The Bradford School with a degree in merchandising management. She is employed as an activities assistant for Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima.

The prospective groom attends Youngstown State University, where he is studying public health. He is employed as a dialysis technician for Fresenius Medical Care in Austintown.
