Huckabee to headline NRA meeting in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Former Republican presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will headline one of several events when the National Rifle Association meets in Pittsburgh April 29 to May 1.

Huckabee will speak at the Consol Energy Center April 30 as part of the “Celebration of American Values Freedom Event” that is part of the NRA’s 140th annual meeting.

The group expects 72,000 people to attend the event.

Other Republican speakers are expected to announce appearances as the event nears.

VisitPittsburgh officials say 27 hotels have booked 4,750 rooms for the event at its peak.

The NRA last met in Pittsburgh in 2004, with 61,000 people attending.
