FBI mum on Pittsburgh raid of wrong residence
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The FBI hasn’t commented or returned a call about how and why agents broke down the door of the wrong home while arresting more than 20 suspected members of a Pittsburgh street gang last week.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the ordeal faced by Gary Adams and his family in Bellevue last Thursday.
That’s when Adams says FBI agents entered his home searching for one of the gang suspects who, it turns out, lived in the house more than two years ago before Adams’ family moved in.
Adams says he woke up with a red laser targeting device shining from an assault rifle pointed at him. Adams says 11 people live in the home, including six grandchildren. He says agents searched the home for about an hour before finally apologizing and promising to pay for the door they broke down.
