Dash to feature 15 locales
Youngstown’s 3rd annual St. Paddy’s Day Dash starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday with registration at the B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave. Here are the restaurants and bars, primarily in the city’s downtown, participating in the event.

The third annual St. Paddy’s Day Dash will take participants to 15 restaurants and bars, primarily in the city’s downtown, Friday to eat, drink and be entertained.
The event “brings a lot of people downtown to these establishments to see what they have to offer,” said Lyndsey Hughes, the event’s organizer. She is the city’s director of events, special projects and marketing.
“It also brings people out of their comfort zones,” she said. “Those who always go to [Cassese’s] MVR will still go there, and then they can go elsewhere.”
Those wanting to participate must register at the B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday.
The cost to register is $2. The fee includes a wrist band that allows participants to ride to each location on two 55-seat buses provided by CCS Trans.
The last pickup time for the bus is 12:30 a.m., Hughes said.
“It will be a really good time,” she said.
Kravitz Delicatessen on Belmont Avenue in Liberty will be selling corned-beef sandwiches at the Lemon Grove Caf and Lounge, 122 W. Federal St.
Proceeds from Friday’s event, which celebrates St. Patrick’s Day a little early (it’s actually March 17), will go to the Blue Knights Police Association.
The organization of active and retired law-enforcement officers, who also are motorcycle enthusiasts, raises money for various charitable groups.
