AUCTIONS

Heartland Christian School, 28 Pittsburgh St., Columbiana, is planning an annual auction for March 19 at the school. The public is asked to support the auction with a gift of merchandise or service. FLEA MARKETS

Youngstown Model Railroad Association will present a toy train and model railroad flea market from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at McMenamy’s Banquet Hall, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will have its sixth annual Night at the Races at the church hall on Saturday. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first race will be at 6. The donation is $5. There will be card games, a 50-50 raffle and free food. Patrons must be over 18.

RAFFLES

Angels for Animals will have a dinner and reverse raffle from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Angels hall, 6385 state Route 165, Canfield. Tickets are $75 and include a dinner and a number. Numbers are drawn from a drum of ping-pong balls. The first number wins cash. Every 10th number drawn wins a $100 brick on Angel Way. The 25th, 50th and 100th number drawn wins cash. Owners of the last three remaining number can split the $2,000 grand prize or continue drawing numbers to the end. Dinners can be purchased for your guest for $25. Boardman High School Band and Orchestra will sponsor its third annual reverse raffle and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 18 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. Tickets are $100 per couple and include dinner for two, an open bar, a disc jockey and a reverse raffle ticket. There also will be a small reverse raffle side board, a basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Tickets may be purchased from any band or orchestra parent. Knights of Columbus, Girard Council 2935, is having its annual St. Patrick’s Day raffle fundraiser. Tickets are available for a donation of $5 for two. The drawing is based on the straight three digit Pennsylvania Evening Drawing. Prizes are $200 each day for March 13, 14, 15 and 16, and a grand prize of $500 on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Heavenly Tours and Travel is sponsoring a motorcoach trip to see the Broadway play “The Color Purple” at the Palace Theatre in Cleveland. Two days, two performances, March 25 and 26, and two buses are scheduled. Show tickets cost $67 each, and round-trip bus fare is $35, for a total of $102. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to the Cleveland Sewing Expo at the IX Center on March 25. The cost is $30 for members and $34 for nonmembers. The trip package includes admission, a class (valued at $19), a shopping bag and a commemorative pin. St. Patrick Church in Hubbard is sponsoring a casino bus trip on April 3 as a fundraiser for the charitable projects of St. Vincent de Paul Society in Hubbard. The bus will leave from the parking lot at St. Patrick School at 9 a.m. for the River Casino in Pittsburgh and leave for the return trip at 4:15 p.m. The cost of $30 per person includes $15 for slot play and a $5 food voucher. Trumbull County Travel Club plans a trip to Columbiana County for lunch, shopping and to see the live state performance of “We Go Everywhere Together.” The bus departs at 10 a.m. March 16 and will return around 5:30 p.m. Call for pickup stops. The club is open to anyone over 21. There are no club fees, and the group meets two or three times a year at Panera Bread on Elm Road. The next informational meeting will be in late spring to introduce the summer trips. The “Uncork Your Palate” Winery day trip scheduled for April 16 is filling fast. The outing includes five wineries, breakfast, lunch and dinner plus an ice wine taste. The cost is $89 per person.

UPMC Horizon Medical Equipment Recycling Program will host a bus trip to Mountaineer Casino, Chester, W.Va., on March 26. The bus will depart from the Greenville campus, 110 N. Main St., Greenville, Pa., at 9:30 a.m. and from the Shenango Valley campus, 2200 Memorial Drive, Farrell, Pa., at 10 a.m. Tickets cost $30 per person and include $25 in free play for a five-hour stay.
