Man killed by tree while chopping firewood

ROSTRAVER, Pa. (AP) — A southwestern Pennsylvania man has been killed by a falling tree while cutting firewood on a southwestern Pennsylvania farm owned by his girlfriend’s family.

The Westmoreland County Coroner today identified the dead man as 44-year-old Milton Lebe of Fayette City.

A deputy coroner says Lebe was cutting firewood about 2:30 p.m. Sunday when his girlfriend could not reach him on his cell phone. She went looking for Lebe and called authorities when she found his body.

Lebe died of head injuries from being hit by a falling tree that he had apparently just cut.
