Man arraigned in Youngtown fire truck accident
YOUNGSTOWN — The man police charged in a weekend accident involving a city fire truck will be back in court March 30.
Frank Martinez, no age or address given, appeared for arraignment today in Youngstown Municipal Court on charges of failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle and failure to maintain marked lanes. He is scheduled for trial before Magistrate Anthony Sertick.
The fire department’s rescue squad vehicle rolled over Saturday morning near Oak Street and Excelsior Avenue on the city’s East Side after firefighters tried to avoid striking the Martinez vehicle. Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries after the accident.
A spare rescue truck is being used with equipment from the wrecked vehicle, fire officials said.
