GM Lordstown to resume production Tuesday

Tom Mock, communications manager for the General Motors Lordstown facilities, issued this statement:

“Significant progress has been made at our supplier site in Michigan. Therefore it has been determined that regular Lordstown production will start up with shifts scheduled for the workday Tuesday March 8, 2011.

“At the West plant, production will resume beginning with third shift reporting at regularly scheduled times Monday night with subsequent shifts also reporting at regular times.

“At the East plant, including Paint and General Assembly, production is scheduled to resume with first shift at 7 am Tuesday, March 8, 2011 with subsequent shifts reporting at regular times.

“Team members needed to support the start up will be notified by their leaders. This is subject to change and the employee information line and media will be updated as needed. The information line number is 1-800-934-9244.

“Employees are advised to continue monitoring the regional media.”
