Tim Malinich, extension agent for Lorain County, presents “Pruning with Tim” at the March 17 program for the Trumbull County Master Gardeners.

The program will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the meeting room of the Ohio State University Agricultural and Family Educational Center, Suite 1, 520 W. Main St. The cost is $15.

“This program will include an outside, hands-on session after lunch, so bring a sack lunch and be prepared to enjoy Tim’s enthusiasm on all things horticulture,” said Kathleen Ferris program chairman.

Malinich is an expert on small fruit trees and plant propagation. He has made several visits to the county as a guest and teacher for master-gardener interns on topics including pesticide education and training tropicals and hydroponics, she added. Malinich also has experience in planning and implementation of the horticulture program at Lake Farm Park in Kirtland and nursery-plant inspection for the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
