GM Lordstown plant shutdown continues to Monday
LORDSTOWN — General Motors’ temporary shutdown at the Lordstown plant has been extended through Monday.
The shutdown includes employees in the facility’s East and West plants, plant spokesman Tom Mock said in a statement today issued to the media.
In the statement, Mock said employees needed during the suspension and startup will be contacted by their supervisors.
The shutdown is caused by a fire at a Michigan manufacturing plant that makes headliners for the Chevrolet Cruze. The headliner is the fabric lining attached to the vehicle's interior roof.
Lordstown employees can call the GM information line at 1-800-934-9244 and check back with Vindy.com for further updates.
