Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Representatives of the Mahoning County auditor’s office will be at various branches of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County this month and April to help homeowners, who are 65 or older or disabled, apply for a senior-citizen homestead exemption.
The exemption is a property tax reduction for elderly or disabled people who own and occupy their homes.
Applicants must bring proof of age, in the form of a driver’s license or a copy of their birth certificates, to apply.
The first sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library’s West Side branch, 2815 Mahoning Ave., and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Austintown branch, 600 S. Raccoon Road.
Contact the auditor’s office or main library for the full schedule.
