Rape sentence

WARREN

Dillon M. McDermott, 19, of Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Fowler Township, has pleaded guilty to rape and was sentenced to four years in prison.

McDermott received the sentence from Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Tuesday.

McDermott engaged in sexual conduct with a teenage girl through force or threat of force Oct. 13, 2010. He could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

GM theft arraignment

YOUNGSTOWN

A Boardman couple charged with receiving stolen property in the theft of Chevrolet and Pontiac nameplates and emblems from the General Motors Lordstown plant waived their appearance at their arraignment Tuesday before Magistrate Dominic DeLaurentis of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Dennis J. Bruner, 41, a GM hourly worker, and his wife, Jaimie E., 33, both of Wolcott Drive, are free on $1,500 bond posted by their lawyer, J. Gerald Ingram, who entered innocent pleas for them.

Police said they seized more than 4,400 items from the couple’s home, and that Jaimie Bruner sold more than $200,000 worth of GM property on eBay.

The case is assigned to Judge R. Scott Krichbaum.

Voyeurism sentence

WARREN

Richard F. Heilman, 41, of Champion has been sentenced to 30 days in the Trumbull County jail plus two years of probation after his guilty plea to a misdemeanor attempted-voyeurism charge.

Heilman was indicted on a felony voyeurism charge, but he pleaded guilty to the reduced charge in January and received his sentence Tuesday from Judge Andrew Logan in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Heilman’s indictment said he invaded the privacy of a teenage girl by recording the girl in a state of nudity March 24, 2010.

Heilman will have to register as a tier-1 sex offender with annual verification for 15 years. Tier-1 is the least-restrictive level of sex offender.

Ellsworth fatal

ELLSWORTH

A woman is dead after her car collided with a truck around 8 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of state Route 45 and Leffingwell Road. The woman’s name was not released, but police say she died of here injuries later at St. Elizabeth Health Center. The driver of the truck refused medical treatment. Changes were made to the intersection last summer to improve visibility.
