Judge adds 8 years to escapee’s 90-year sentence
Lexter C. Williams
YOUNGSTOWN
A city man sentenced to more than 90 years in prison for home invasion, robbery and kidnapping now has been sentenced to eight more years for escape. But that time is to be served concurrently with the existing sentence, which means it does not lengthen the time to be served.
Lexter Williams, 30, of Kendis Circle, pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony escape before Judge James C. Evans of Mahoning County Common Plea Court. The judge immediately sentenced Williams to eight more years.
Williams fled from electronically-monitored house arrest on Nov. 18, just before he was to be sentenced for the Jan. 22, 2009, armed home invasion in the 100 block of Livingston Street.
Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court issued a bench warrant for his arrest after he failed to appear for his scheduled Nov. 22 sentencing, and he was captured in Philadelphia late last month.
and returned to Youngstown.
Williams ultimately drew a 93 1/2 year prison term for the home invasion.
