Group seeks artists to paint mural

WARREN

Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership has issued a call to artists to paint a mural on a building at 310 Elm Road NE. The artist that is selected will receive $3,500. Each submission must be accompanied by three sketches, and each artist can make only one submission. There is no application fee. The wall is 53 feet wide and 10 feet tall. Skating club’s show

YOUNGSTOWN

“Classics on Ice,” the Skating Club of Greater Youngstown’s annual spring ice-skating show, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Covelli Centre. Audience members can bring their ice skates for a free skating session after the show. A limited number of free skates will be available for those with no skates.

“Classics on Ice” uses a local cast of more than 75 skaters, and has three synchronized-skating teams. Tickets are $10 at the door or in advance. Call 330-502-7528.

‘Next to Normal’ coming to Benedum

“Next to Normal,” the hit Broadway musical and Tony and Pulitzer prize winner, comes to Benedum Center on April 5-10. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. April 5, 6 and 7; 8 p.m. April 8; 2 and 8 p.m. April 9; and 1 and 6:30 p.m. April 10. Tickets ($21-$57) are available online at pgharts.org or by calling 412-456-6666.

“Next to Normal” is a powerful story of a family trying to take care of itself. Alice Ripley, who received the 2009 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the musical, reprises her performance on the North American tour.

Cedar Point auditions

Cedar Point resort/amusement park will have open auditions for entertainers, musicians, technicians, stage crew and DJs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the live- entertainment office. The park has six live-show venues.
