Man sentenced in robbery case

The second of three men who kidnapped and robbed a 12-year-old Westwood Street Northwest boy in January 2010 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

O’Mearo Beaver, 20, of Commerce Street Northwest, who was convicted at trial in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on both charges, got a longer sentence than one of his accomplices, Shon L. Thompson, 21, of Fifth Street Southwest.

Thompson received a seven-year sentence after pleading guilty in December to the same two charges. Thompson is serving an 81/2-year sentence overall, having received an additional 18 months earlier this month for an unrelated 2009 weapons offense.

A third man involved in the robbery was never identified.
