POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

June 23

Recovered property: Pennsylvania State Police found a vehicle just off Interstate 80 in Mercer County that had been stolen in Hubbard.

Theft: A man in the 200 block of East Liberty Street discovered various tools stolen from his garage.

June 24

Theft: A Woodland Avenue woman accused her former boyfriend of taking $370 from her.

Fraud: A Fairchild Drive woman alleged her mother has made fraudulent use of the accuser’s bank account.

June 25

Menacing: One neighbor each reported having been threatened by the other in the 500 block of Creekside Drive.

June 26

Theft: A leprechaun decoration was removed from a business in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Theft: Items were taken from a car in the 300 block of Lauretta Lane.

Menacing: A West Park Avenue woman said her estranged husband and some members of his family have been harassing her.

Theft: A woman in the 50 block of Orchard Avenue reported the theft of her son’s bicycle.

Theft: Property was reported stolen from Roosevelt Elementary School, 110 Orchard Ave.

LIBERTY

June 22

Stolen property: Authorities responded to Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, regarding the return of stolen property, then arrested Tiffany A. Chappell, 19, of 860 Pennsylvania Ave.; 31-year-old Latonya L. Thomas-Fowler, 451 Crandall Ave.; and 34-year-old Marlynn I. Garrett, same address. The three Youngstown woman faced felony charges of receiving stolen property after police said they found in the vehicle bags filled with gift cards and receipts, as well as identification and debit cards that belonged to someone else.

June 23

Breaking and entering: A window to a residence in the 3400 block of Hadley Avenue had been pried open and 200 feet of copper piping was removed. Also, a water meter was missing.

Theft/disrupting public services: Someone cut several hundred feet of cable lines near Werner Road and interrupted phone service to many nearby residents.

Aggravated menacing: A man in the 3200 block of Hadley Avenue told police a Youngstown woman, 35, exposed a handgun to him, then made an implied threat.

Criminal damaging: All of a vehicle’s tires were slashed in the 800 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Criminal damaging: A Belmar Drive woman reported a rock had been thrown through her living-room window.

June 24

Theft: A Burning Tree Lane woman reported two yard decorations and a bird feeder stolen, for a $425 loss.

Theft: A Trumbull Court woman said her former boyfriend stole a $300 cellphone and a bottle of Valium from her.

June 25

Drugs: Suspicious activity in the 200 block of Colonial Drive led to 20-year-old Glen W. Parker’s arrest. Parker, of 4000 Logan Gate Road, Liberty, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Theft: Torrie Crump, 35, of 2323 Ohio Ave., was charged with stealing merchandise from Walmart. Crump, who was wanted on a traffic charge, also was charged with obstructing official business after officers said she provided a false name.

Fraud: An Aurora Drive man found out his stolen automated-teller-machine card was used to withdraw $120 from his account without consent.

Drugs: While responding to a person who fell in the 5800 block of Sampson Road, authorities arrested 40-year-old John Jarome, 978 W. LaClede Ave., Youngstown, on two drug-related charges after saying Jarome had a suspected marijuana pipe and a small quantity of suspected marijuana.

June 26

Loud music: Police received a total of at least 20 complaints from residents about music coming from two Belmont Avenue businesses and from the 40 block of Redfern Drive.

Theft: A motorist left a Get Go gas station, 4698 Belmont Ave., without paying for $35 worth of fuel.

Drugs: Officers investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 50 block of Trumbull Avenue charged 29-year-old Jamie R. Fellows, 491 Porter St. NE, Warren, with possession of drug-abuse instruments when, they said, a hypodermic needle was found.

Theft: Kristen French, 27, of 363 School St., Hubbard, was charged with taking a pair of sunglasses from Walmart. She was released on a summons.

June 27

Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail picked up 29-year-old Rory J. Stephenson, 131 Roslyn Drive, Youngstown, on a warrant from the township charging him with theft and criminal trespassing.

Theft: A woman at a Goldie Road store reported money and several credit cards missing from her purse.

Theft/damage: A vehicle was broken into in the 40 block of Trumbull Avenue, which led to police chasing the suspect. Stolen were a folding knife and a ball cap.

GIRARD

June 23

Criminal damaging: A car’s rear passenger-side window was broken in the 400 block of Illinois Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Towne Center Liquor-Lottery-Beverage, 816 N. State St., and stole an undisclosed sum of money, receipts and a 9 mm firearm.

Possible breaking and entering: An Olive Street woman told police she believed someone had broken into her residence after she noticed a broken window and a rear door ajar. Nothing seemed to be missing, however.

Aggravated menacing: A North Highland Avenue man reported his brother-in-law threatened to shoot him.

Aggravated menacing: A Dearborn Street woman told officers two neighbors threatened to shoot her dog.

June 24

Theft: Thirteen DVDs were missing from a living room in the 60 block of South Randolph Street.

Arrest: Officers arrested 18-year-old Amanda McCurdy, 292 Louis Ave., Girard, after responding to a 911 call from that residence regarding a fight. McCurdy became belligerent, used profanity during the 911 call and caused a disturbance, a report said.

June 25

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 500 block of Lawrence Avenue was found with a shattered driver’s-side window.

Assault: Two men were in a fight at a U.S. Route 422 fast-food restaurant, where one man reported having been punched several times.

Theft/fraud: A man discovered his debit card was used without authorization at two Girard businesses after his wallet had been stolen from his vehicle on North State Street.

June 26

Theft: A Highland Avenue woman accused her former boyfriend of taking her $500 laptop computer.

June 27

Theft: Someone ransacked a car in the 100 block of Verona Avenue before taking $200, a global-positioning-system device, a digital camera and other items, for a $1,500 loss.

Arrest: Police conducted a welfare check at a Joan Avenue home, then charged Deborah A. Troyan, 412 Joan, with disorderly conduct after saying she refused to cooperate.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A South Randolph Street woman said someone used her car without permission.

Theft: A pack of cigarettes was missing from a vehicle in the 100 block of South Davis Street.
