Downtown bar dash will be Saturday

The fourth annual Independence Day Dash will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with eight Downtown-area bars and restaurants participating: The MVR, Buffalo Wild Wings, Downtown 36, The Royal Oaks, The Lemon Grove, Inner Circle Pizza, Imbibe and The Old Precinct.

Registration is free and will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the MVR on Walnut Street. Dashers will be asked to donate $1 toward athletic scholarships at YSU. Participants will get a wristband for drink specials and free rides on the shuttle buses.

There will not be fireworks Saturday night. The city’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. Monday at Covelli Centre.
