2 injured in single-vehicle accident

Two people were taken to Pittsburgh-area hospitals after a single-vehicle accident at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday on New Butler Road, Pennsylvania State Police reported.
The driver, Anthony D. Lombardo, 36, and a passenger, Brandy L. Lombardo, 31, both of West Terrace Avenue, were ejected after their vehicle, traveling east and entering U.S. Route 422 West, failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and ran off the left side of the entrance ramp. The vehicle then struck a guardrail, rolled over and came to rest on the roadway. The police report doesn’t say whether or how the Lombardos are related, nor to which hospitals they were taken.
Six other passengers were treated at area hospitals. Taken to Ellwood City Hospital were a 13-year-old female, 14-year-old male and 1-month-old boy, and taken to Jameson Hospital were 5- and 9-year-old girls and a 15-year-old female. The passengers were not named in the police report.
Shenango Township police and volunteer fire department assisted at the scene.
