Dog wash and hike will fund rescue group

LORDSTOWN

For the Dogs Animal Rescue and Broadview Acres Country Canine Resort are sponsoring the first Hike and Splash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 at 419 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown.

To participate, dogs must be leashed at all times, up to date on vaccinations and handled by an adult.

The registration fee for the one-mile hike is $15. A dog wash will take place beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dogs can be bathed for $10 or $15 while their humans peruse various vendors, basket auction items and a variety of raffles.

A majority of the proceeds will continue to help For the Dogs, a nonprofit animal rescue group, to save dogs mainly from the Mahoning County Dog Pound and help raise funds for its own building.
