YOUNGSTOWN

A 53-year-old Youngstown man escaped serious injury after being ejected from his SUV and then had the vehicle roll on top of him on Interstate 680, police said.

Michael Leskosky of Wilcox Road was traveling northbound on I-680, near state Route 193, when he lost control of his 2007 Mercury Mariner about 9:45 p.m. Monday. He hit the guardrail and then crossed lanes and crashed into a cement median, police said.

Leskosky was ejected out the passenger-side window and then had the vehicle land on him, police said. Police are conducting an investigation and charges are pending. Police said Leskosky likely wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

After the crash, several motorists got out of their vehicles and lifted the SUV in order to get Leskosky out from under it, police said.

Leskosky was listed Tuesday in stable condition at the St. Elizabeth Health Center.
