Sen. Toomey praises Wendell August Forge

GROVE CITY, PA.
Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey on Monday visited two manufacturing companies in western Pennsylvania in an effort to better understand what they need to grow their respective businesses.
Toomey visited Ellwood Quality Steel in New Castle and Wendell August Forge in Grove City.
“I’m trying to find out what we can do in Washington to create an environment where businesses can grow,” Toomey said. “I’m consistently hearing about the problems of overregulation. There’s excessive regulation that’s keeping companies from hiring new workers.”
Toomey cited one such regulation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which he says hinders business.
He cited Wendell August Forge as a company that has rebounded and continued to grow despite hardship. The company’s facility on Madison Avenue was destroyed in March, but the company later acquired the assets of New York-based Old Forge Metals Inc., a pewter- casting company.
“They showed amazing resilience in totally rebuilding after a devastating fire,” Toomey said.
