Applications for electrical apprentice being accepted

The Independent Electrical Contractors Western Reserve Chapter has begun accepting applications for the U.S. Department of Labor Certified Apprenticeship Training Program in Electrical Trade.

The chapter will accept applications from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and Thursday at B&J Electric, 10950 Woodworth Road.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a 12th grade education or GED and be able to pass an aptitude test, drug screening and physical.

Applicants should bring a copy of their high school transcript and a copy of their birth certificate or drivers’ license.

There is a nonrefundable application fee of $20, paid by money order, check or cash.

The aptitude test will be administered from 8 to 11 a.m. on July 9 at Canfield High School.
