One-car crash kills man, 28

The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal one-car crash in Perry Township.

The patrol said that Jeffrey A. Zohnd, 28, of Duquesne Street, Columbiana, was traveling eastbound early Saturday on Chestnut Grove Road when his 1993 Chevrolet Lumina went off the south side of the road and struck a tree.

An investigator with the Columbiana County coroner pronounced Zohnd dead at the scene.

OSHP said that Zohnd was wearing a seat belt. The patrol got the call about the crash about 6 a.m. Saturday, but troopers believe it occurred about four hours before that.
