Squadron 15 raising funds through flag sponsorships

Sons of The American Legion Mahoning Valley Squadron 15 in Poland is kicking off Round Two of its fundraising campaign.

Round One of the “Flags over Poland” was a program to replace worn, torn and frayed American flags at public places. The first American flags to be replaced were those displayed at Poland Village Hall.

For Round Two, Squadron 15 will place American flags on the USMC PFC James Spencer Memorial Bridge in Poland Village. Squadron 15 is asking all current and former Marines to assist and purchase an American flag for the display on the bridge. Squadron 15 would like to place American flags on utility poles throughout Poland Village and Poland Township as well.

The cost is $50 to sponsor one 3x5 nylon American flag for display in public places. Sponsors have the opportunity to have the name of a loved one embroidered on the canvas spine of the flag.

The cost is $85 to sponsor one 3x5 nylon Avenue of American flags for display on utility poles. The embroidery option is not available.

The cost is $70 to purchase one deluxe flag home/business set; complete with 6-foot pole and 3x5 nylon American flag. The embroidery option is not available.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the programs of Sons of The American Legion Mahoning Valley Squadron 15. Support of this project directly benefits programs that provide help for America’s children, veterans and military families.
