May 22

Counterfeit: A fake $10 bill was passed in the Taco Bell drive-through, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Harassment: A Glenwood Avenue woman told police someone in Texas made a sexually explicit call to her.

Vandalism: A double-pane window was damaged at a business in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Twelve articles of clothing were stolen from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Arrest: Officers responding to a fight in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue took 25-year-old Bobby J. Crockett Jr., 3009 Hudson Ave., Youngstown, into custody upon finding out he was wanted on a felony drug-possession charge. Crockett also was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, he provided two false names.

Burglary/assault: A man in the 5000 block of Friendship Avenue told authorities another man kicked in his front door, then punched the accuser several times in the head, causing swelling to his left ear.

May 23

Menacing: A woman told police she was threatened with harm outside her home in the 4000 block of South Avenue.

Fraud: An Erskine Avenue woman trying to buy a vehicle online told police she was instructed to send $2,690 to someone in New York City, but that the car never arrived as promised.

Theft: A worker on the roof of Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1280 Doral Drive, discovered copper piping missing.

Fraud: A Holbrook Road man noticed $668 worth of unauthorized charges to his account, presumably when someone bought a plane ticket to and made hotel reservations in India.

Arrest: Police responding to a disturbance at a business in the 8300 block of Market Street charged 18-year-old Shawna D. Perkins, 2801 Ridley Ave., Youngstown, with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Perkins, who had been let go by the business, yelled obscenities, overturned a chair and tossed an artificial tree, a report showed.

Theft: A woman reported $3,550 worth of jewelry was removed from her residence in the 700 block of Oakridge Drive.

Theft: A $120 satellite-radio system was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of Afton Avenue.

Theft: Eight landscaping stones were stolen from a home in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue.

Theft/vandalism: Someone cut and removed copper air-conditioning unit lines at a construction site in the 50 block of Stadium Drive.

Theft: A $250 CD faceplate was stolen from a car in the 100 block of Melrose Avenue.

Arrest: Police pulled over 53-year-old Keith E. Ellison, 540 Hudson Drive, Youngstown, near Hillman Way, where they took him into custody on a felony theft charge from Liberty Township.

Arrest: Matthew J. Campbell, 28, of 7465 Sierra Madre Trail, Boardman, was charged with violating a protection order after his estranged wife alleged Campbell had sent her a text message threatening to flatten her car’s tires, then threw an object at her balcony window, both in violation of the order.

Theft: Copper piping was missing from an air-conditioning unit, and a propane tank was stolen from Dental Express, 6540 South Ave.

June 2

Auto theft: A 1998 Cadillac DeVille was stolen in the 7000 block of Tiffany Boulevard.

Theft: A customer rented but failed to return 10 shirts, vests and coats to Rondinelli Tuxedo Co., 207 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Drugs: Police issued a citation and a summons to 21-year-old Alexander R. Burrell, 268 Parkway Ave., Struthers, during a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Market Street. Burrell faced misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when, officers said, he admitted having a small bag of suspected marijuana in his pocket.

Harassment: A man told police a former employee made two threatening calls to the accuser’s Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: Ashley Newland, 18, of 3656 Mercedes Place, Canfield, was charged in the theft of $108.65 worth of cosmetics from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Aggravated menacing: A security guard at a South Avenue store reported an elderly man threatened to shoot the worker after he had asked the man to move his vehicle.

Breaking and entering: Police conducting a welfare check in the 200 block of Shields Road discovered an open basement door, and that copper pipes had been removed.

Theft/criminal damaging: Three women and a man were suspected of stealing $850 worth of clothing from GapKids in the Southern Park Mall. Also, several security sensors were damaged.

Arrest: Tammy D. Ingledue, 48, was picked up at her home, 8215 Raub Ave., Boardman, on a misdemeanor warrant from Columbiana County charging her with criminal damaging.

June 3

Criminal damaging: A key was used to scratch an obscenity onto a vehicle’s driver’s side at the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old John C. Bates, Jr., 23 Saranac Ave., Youngstown. Bates was wanted on two misdemeanor warrants.

Identity fraud: A Mill Creek Boulevard man discovered someone had opened two utility accounts in his name without authorization and that he owes a total of $202.

Theft: A 15-year-old Boardman boy was charged with stealing body spray, a box of condoms and other items from Walmart.

Theft: A gas grill, an electric toy car and a 17-horsepower tractor were taken from a residence in the 3900 block of Arden Boulevard.

Theft: A $420 camcorder was missing from a home in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to break into a residence in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court and damaged two door locks.

Theft by deception: A Southern Boulevard woman told officers she gave a $24 check to a man who came to her door claiming to sell a magazine subscription. The woman made an inquiry and learned the man was not affiliated with the company, a report said.

Domestic violence: A 15-year-old Boardman girl was charged with the crime after her mother alleged the teen had struck her six to eight times in the back and pushed the accuser into a mirror during an argument.

Theft: Belinda L. Thomas, 48, of 130 Kendis Circle, Youngstown, was charged, accused of stealing clothing and hair spray from Walmart.

Theft: A worker for a Southern Park Mall store noticed $175 missing from her purse.

Theft: A purse was removed from a vehicle in the 6100 block of South Avenue.

Harassment: A Hillman Way woman told authorities her 11-year-old daughter was the victim of cyber bullying.

Harassment: A South Avenue woman reported getting threatening text messages.

Assault: An Austintown woman told officers that while in the Southern Park Mall parking lot, someone grabbed and pushed her head forward.

June 4

Criminal damaging: Someone without permission removed branches from two pine trees in the 100 block of Clifton Drive.

Burglary/menacing: A woman told authorities two people entered her Willow Drive residence, then tried to goad her 15-year-old son into a fight.

Theft: A woman discovered a billfold missing from her purse at a Doral Drive store.

Theft: A township boy, 17, was charged in the theft of an $18 set of headphones from Walmart, then released to the custody of his uncle.

Theft: An Erskine Avenue woman reported having bought a $100 gift card for carpet-cleaning services that were never done.

Theft: A Glenwood Avenue woman reported the theft of her mail.

Pursuit: Police attempting to pull over a vehicle near East Midlothian Boulevard and Shirley Road reported the male driver, age 18 to 20, led them on a foot pursuit. A perimeter was set up, though authorities had not made an arrest at the time of the report.

Assault/criminal damaging: An Arden Boulevard woman reported her former boyfriend slapped her head after damaging her phone and laptop computer when she refused to allow him to stay at her home.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 6900 block of Market Street threw pieces of blacktop at a vehicle, breaking a windshield and causing numerous dents.

Theft: Janice R. Peacock, 20, of 330 Hilton Ave., Youngstown was charged in the theft of $19 worth of clothing from Walmart. She was released on a summons.

Auto theft: A 2001 Cadillac CTS was stolen in the 4800 block of Erie Street.

June 5

Criminal damaging: A car in the 1200 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive was found with all of its tires flattened, presumably the result of having been punctured.

Fraud: A Wingate Road woman noticed a $500 unauthorized charge to her checking account.

Arrest: Police pulled over a car on Weston Avenue, where they took into custody 43-year-old Leslie C. Sutton, 1633 Weston, on a warrant from Youngstown Municipal Court charging him with falsification.

Possible theft: A man reported his cellphone lost or stolen at the Southern Park Mall.

Aggravated menacing: A township man in a check-out line at a Doral Drive store reported another man threatened to harm the accuser and challenged him to a fight.

June 11

Theft: Marlynn Garrett, 34, of 451 Crandall Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing two pellet guns and pellets from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Also charged were two Youngstown boys, 13 and 15.

Arrest: Police responded to an altercation in the 7300 block of Oregon Trail and charged 25-year-old La’kyiaWilliams, 7391 Oregon Trail, with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Williams continued to scream at the other person, then fought and refused to cooperate with authorities, they said.

Theft: Three women in their 20s left Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 6691 South Ave., without paying a $38.47 food bill.

Assault: Police booked a 16-year-old North Lima boy on one count of assault after another boy reported having been punched five times in the face at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave.

Theft/forgery: A man noticed four or five books of checks missing from his truck while in the 5400 block of Southern Boulevard, then learned someone removed money from his account using some of the checks.

Theft of services: The landlord of a South Schenley Avenue apartment complex discovered a tenant has been stealing electrical service from her.

Burglary: Through a rear door to a home in the 5800 block of Rosewood Drive.

Stolen property: A surveillance camera showed a man in his 30s making transactions at a Boardman-Poland Road business using checks that had been stolen from a Wellsville business.

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 16, was charged with theft, criminal damaging and obstructing official business after $13 worth of merchandise was taken from Walmart. The teen also damaged packaging, and signed a police form with a phony name, a report showed.

Theft: Dusty M. Zembower, 23, of 12827 Springfield Road, New Springfield, was charged, accused of stealing cell-phone products from Walmart. He was released on a summons.

Burglary/domestic violence: Seth M. Layton, 22, of 324 Whipple Ave., Campbell, faced felony charges of burglary, domestic violence and aggravated menacing as well as misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and obstructing official business. Layton, who police said had threatened an officer and Layton’s former girlfriend after his arrest, also was accused of breaking into the woman’s Tod Avenue apartment, grabbing her by the head and threatening to harm her.

June 12

Theft: Derrick G. McIntosh, 42, of 209 Carroll St., Youngstown, faced charges of theft, possession of criminal tools and criminal trespassing after $200 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart. McIntosh, who had been given a trespassing warning after an earlier theft, used a razor blade to open a package, a report said.

Theft: A Cathy Ann Drive woman found out someone had made $278 worth of purchases from her account without permission.

Theft: A $200 cellphone was missing from an apartment in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.

Menacing: A vehicle check in the 7000 block of Market Street led to the arrest of 41-year-old William P. Milano III, 808 S. Hazlewood Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted by city police on a menacing charge.

Domestic violence: Michael W. Russell, 39, of 6625 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Russell had pushed and held her down, then poured beer on her hair and face during an argument about money.

Theft: Someone stole three computer programs from Viking Sewing Gallery, 7386 Market St.

Burglary: To a trailer in the 4000 block of South Avenue, from which a debit card was missing.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 100 block of Jennette Drive sustained damage to its driver’s-side door and panel.

Criminal damaging: Scratches were found on a car’s driver’s-side door in the 700 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Burglary: Occurred in the 400 block of Mathews Road through a rear door. A laptop computer and jewelry were missing.

Theft: Theresa A. Hoffman, 41, of 127 S. Main St., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of two measuring glasses from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal damaging: Seven small scratches were discovered on a motorcycle in the 7900 block of Market Street. The estimate was $200.

June 13

Theft: Lori A. Henninger, 29, of 1143 Red Tail Hawk Drive, Boardman, surrendered on a felony charge after being accused of stealing two diamond rings from Direct Jewelry Outlet, 1235 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man and a woman stole $1,138 worth of clothing from 850 Blues, 850 E. Western Reserve Road.

Trespassing: Police received a report of an unwanted person at Yankee Kitchen Restaurant, 6635 Market St.

Aggravated menacing: A West Boulevard woman told authorities her former boyfriend called threatening to kill her.

Theft: The rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.

Counterfeit: A man tried to pass a fake $10 bill at a Shell True North gas station, 5135 Market St.

Theft: An official with a West Boulevard long-term care facility reported $250 had been removed from a resident’s room.

Theft: Heather Hall, 30, of 7961 Service St., Masury, faced a felony count after 18 DVDs had been stolen from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave. The theft came to $506.

Theft: An Oakridge Drive man told police another person refused to return various personal papers to the accuser.

Theft: Authorities got a report that two males stole money from Vindicator newspaper boxes in the 1300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Menacing: A Charles Avenue man said two people left profane and threatening voice-mail messages.

Counterfeit/forgery: A Walmart official reported receiving five fraudulent company payroll checks drawn on nonexistent accounts.

Criminal damaging: Three Crimson Trail residents discovered eggs had been thrown at their homes.

Recovered property: A Tippecanoe Road man’s 1995 Ford vehicle was returned after he reported it had been taken without permission.

Theft: An $80 boys bicycle was taken from a yard in the 4600 block of Yarmouth Lane.

Theft: A West Boulevard woman noticed two envelopes containing money were missing from her mailbox.

Theft: A man at Walmart stole two TV converter boxes.

Arrest: Steven L. Belcher, 36, was taken into custody at his residence, 94 Terrace Drive, Boardman on a probation-violation charge. The original charge was operating a vehicle impaired.

June 14

Drug paraphernalia: Police investigating a suspicious person at a Market Street gas station charged 28-year-old Robert L. Swope, 2502 Sierra Drive, Youngstown, with possession of drug paraphernalia after saying a suspected crack pipe was found.
