YOUNGSTOWN

A man was arrested after he and another man fought over rent money, police said.

Glen Michael Leyman, who lives at 1682 Mahoning Ave., was arrested after the victim reported he’d been attacked with a knife and a baseball bat at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police found an aluminum bat and a kitchen knife in the yard in front of the apartment, the report said.

The victim told police he was injured on his hand and arm when he tried to take the knife off Leyman.

Leyman left his apartment after police arrived. Police found him at another location on Mahoning Avenue. He was charged with felonious assault and drug possession. Police said they found marijuana, Xanax and methadone on him.

He was taken to the Mahoning County jail and was set to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court this morning at 10:30.
