Filmmakers seek extras for ‘Avengers’

CLEVELAND

Paid movie extras are needed for the film “The Avengers,” based on the Marvel Comics characters. An open casting call will be from noon to 4 p.m. July 15; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16, at the Holiday Inn, 6001 Rockside Road, Independence.

Marquee Awards to reveal nominees

YOUNGSTOWN

Nominees will be announced at 5 p.m. July 14 at Cafe Cimmento, 120 E. Boardman St., Downtown, for the 2010-11 Marquee Awards, which honor the best in Mahoning Valley theater. The public is welcome to attend.

The Marquee Awards will be given out at the Family Life Center, St. Michael Church, N. Broad St., Canfield, Aug. 13. A limited number of tickets are available; for reservations, call 330-501-7796.
