OVI checkpoint tonight in Youngstown

CANFIELD — Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that an operating-a-vehicle-impaired checkpoint will be from 9 p.m. to midnight today on Glenwood Avenue near the Youngstown Playhouse.

The checkpoint is funded by federal grant money to combat alcohol-related and fatal crashes, said Lt. Chris Heverly, commander of the patrol’s Canfield Post. If you plan to drink alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements, Heverly added.
