A Campbell woman and her son are facing charges of felony theft after being accused of shoplifting from a department store.

Tanja Manigault, 35, of Campbell, was charged with theft and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile when she was arrested around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Little Caesars Pizza on U.S. Route 224.

Her son, Robert Manigault, 16, of Campbell, was charged with felony theft at the same time.

Police said a loss-prevention officer from Macy’s department store stopped a police officer in the Southern Park Mall parking lot and pointed to a green car exiting the lot, saying the occupants stole nine pieces of sterling-silver jewelry valued at $710.

Manigault and her son were stopped for a traffic violation, and the store loss-prevention officer identified them as the shoplifters, according to reports.

Police said Tanja Manigault retrieved the jewelry, which she had hidden in her underwear, and gave police a false Social Security number, which resulted in a charge of obstructing official business.

She was taken to Mahoning County jail, and her son was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
