Gov. Kasich: Fireworks to return to Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS

Ohio’s governor says fireworks again will light up the night skies over the state fair this year.

Gov. John Kasich and the Ohio Expositions Commission on Thursday announced new activities planned for the Ohio State Fair. The event runs July 27 through Aug. 7.

Evening fireworks had been eliminated due to budget cuts but will return to the fair for the first time since 2007.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that Kasich says this year’s fair will be a “blowout” event.
