Casey Anthony’s mom resumes testimony in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The mother of a Florida woman charged with killing her young daughter is back on the witness stand.

Cindy Anthony resumed her testimony this morning. On Thursday, her testimony contradicted prosecutors’ theory that Casey Anthony was the one who made Internet searches on chloroform.

Chloroform is a chemical compound that can be used to knock someone unconscious and also is found in human decomposition.

Cindy Anthony said she had run queries on chloroform while looking up information on chlorophyll, a green pigment found in plants.

The body of Casey Anthony’s 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was found in December 2008, almost six months after she disappeared in Orlando. Prosecutors believe the girl suffocated in June 2008. Casey Anthony didn’t report her daughter missing for 31 days.
